Doubling the Number of Hours in Your Day

I feel as if it's been ages since I last posted, yet still I have nothing earth shattering to tell you!

Instead I have been busy, busy, busy in all domains of my life, as most of us are.

I have been buzzing around the immediacy of washing, shopping, cooking and homework. I've been  putting in some long hours at my day job as well as trying to make in roads into the medium to long term projects required of every woman: booking a summer holiday, buying clothes and shoes for kids, ensuring presents and cards bought and sent for all upcoming birthdays, and dress purchasing for an upcoming wedding.

All while I'm trying to steal minutes here and there to read the novel I'm engrossed in, renew the house insurance, spend an age calling the wifi provider and attempt to shoe-horn some exercise back into my life. I'm exhausted by the perpetuity of it all at the moment.

My point is not that I'm any busier than anyone else...
My point is how on earth did I have time to drink and be hungover?
Answers below please!

  1. Dear Rachel,
I am laughing, because that is a very good question!
When I was teaching all day, doing lesson plans all night, correcting papers, getting to yoga, washing clothes, etc, how DID I have time?

  2. Surprisingly I'd always find time to drink. Even feeling hangover and being tired never stopped me. Time was not an issue. I guess my focus and priorities were skewed.

  3. Oh that's a good one girl! I think we would sleep walk through most of the day thinking about that drink at evening time & passing out in front of the TV or hearing that next morning, we already discussed this last night!! We did?? Lol

    1. It was kolmsky heights. I've now moved on to next having discovered Michael Connelly. No depth to plots like Grisham but enjoyable courtroom lawyerly tale which is easy to read. Rx

  6. Yes, totally agree too. How on earth did I have time to do anything when I was drinking and being hungover the next day! Oh that's right, a lot or stuff wouldn't get done!

  7. It is difficult with a hangover to get anything done. Its only when you stop drinking you realise how it is easier to do things with a non drinking clear sober mind.

    1. I think that is why I found everything 'so stressful', it was actually that I only had half a functioning brain and needed double the effort to do anything! Weird how we never realised and because of this 'stressful life' I drank even more wine!

  8. I think the key for me was/is that drinking took the pressure off having to do everything else... I was/am the queen of procrastination (I'll do that tomorrow.. Too hungover/squiffy now) thus creating more pressure and more excuses to escape into a bottle of wine..

Day 6 now.. Onwards and upwards! No more excuses!
